Google Discover’s new experimental Daily Listen feature turns your news feed into a podcast

Google has introduced a new experimental feature called Daily Listen, which converts your Discover feed into a short podcast summarizing the top stories of the day tailored to your interests. Available through the Google Labs program, Daily Listen uses generative AI to curate stories based on your previous interactions with the Discover feed. While currently only accessible to US users, it can be enabled by joining the Google Labs program through the Google app on Android or iOS. The five-minute podcast includes a scrolling transcript for reading along and standard playback controls. This feature is reminiscent of Google’s Audio Overview in NotebookLM and reflects a shift towards audio-based interactions with devices, indicating a potential long-term presence for Daily Listen.
