Nvidia’s long-term partner Palit has introduced a new innovation to the tech market by unveiling Pandora, a compact mini PC designed for edge AI computing. Measuring at just 121mm x 145mm x 66mm and weighing 470g, Pandora is more than just a mini PC – it is dubbed as ‘mini AI hardware’ tailored for AI inference, machine learning acceleration, and robotics tasks.

Pandora is powered by Nvidia’s Jetson Orin NX Super platform, available in 8GB or 16GB RAM variants, offering impressive performance with 117 and 157 AI TOPS respectively. Equipped with a 128GB SSD, Ubuntu Linux, and JetPack SDK 6.1.1, Pandora includes an active cooling system to ensure optimal performance under heavy workloads.

On the connectivity front, Pandora features USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A and Type-C/OTC ports, USB 2.0 Type-A ports, dual Ethernet ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, and audio options through 3.5mm jack or pin header. The device supports various expansions through M.2 slots, enabling the addition of SSDs, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 5G/LTE modules. Notably, Pandora offers 3D-printed casing shells for customizable hardware extensions, catering to developers’ needs.

Palit suggests diverse applications for Pandora including smart retail for customer analytics, interactive teaching tools in education, and compatibility with Nvidia Isaac and ROS2 for robotics and automation. Additionally, Pandora can handle complex AI tasks such as natural language processing and content creation, making it a versatile choice for tech enthusiasts.

While pricing and release dates remain undisclosed, Pandora is expected to hit the market soon, offering a promising blend of compact design and powerful AI capabilities.
