Sega is contemplating the launch of its own game subscription service in order to compete with established services like Xbox Game Pass and EA Play. In a recent interview with BBC, Sega America and Europe CEO Shuji Utsumi expressed the company’s interest in exploring opportunities in this area. Utsumi hinted at the possibility of a subscription service being developed, acknowledging the need for innovation to keep Sega relevant in the gaming industry. The potential service could include a vast array of classic Sega titles along with more modern games like Total War: Warhammer 3 and Two Point Hospital. By offering such a mix of retro and contemporary games, Sega aims to establish a premium subscription service that appeals to both old-school and new-age gamers.
