Security researchers at Eclypsium have uncovered multiple critical vulnerabilities in various Palo Alto Networks firewalls. The vulnerabilities, named as LogoFAIL, PixieFAIL, and several others, could potentially allow attackers to bypass basic integrity protections and modify device firmware. Palo Alto Networks responded by stating that if the firewall’s operating system is kept up to date and security settings are configured correctly, the risk of exploitation is minimal. The company reassured that they have not observed any malicious exploitation of these vulnerabilities and are collaborating with third-party vendors to develop necessary mitigations. Customers are advised to follow best practices for securing their management interfaces.
