Italy’s cybersecurity agency has identified Noname057 as the culprit behind recent DDoS attacks globally. The attacks were in response to Italy’s President’s remarks likening Russia’s actions to Nazi expansionism, causing disruptions to 20 Italian websites connected to banking and airports. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni supported the President’s comments, as Noname057, a pro-Russian hacker group, orchestrated the cyberattacks, targeting various institutions in Italy. Noname057 has a history of launching DDoS attacks worldwide, including Taiwan and Japan, which caused some disruption. The group’s actions have been linked to the DDoSia botnet. Source: Reuters.
